Patient Transport Services Queensland Pty Ltd (PTSQ) provides specialist, non urgent, transport for less mobile people. It's a taxi, with a stretcher bed! We take all kinds of people, with all kinds of needs, to all kinds of places. If you're struggling with a logistical conundrum, call us, we've probably done it before.
Our clients use us for a variety of reasons. Most common is to hospitals for specialist care and appointments, moving long distance to an aged care facility or to be near family, moving between health care facilities, or just for a day trip and a change of scenery. We have a few regular clients of all ages who need to travel from regional Queensland to Brisbane for regular specialist care, and they and their carers look forward to a comfortable and stress-free trip.
Our team are mostly ambulance trained and highly experienced in complex patient care. They have done it and seen it all, and provide a caring, efficient and calm environment for all of our VIPs.
We have a fleet of vehicles that are fitted out as ambulances and can take up to two stretcher patients plus sitting patients/carers (and the odd puppy). There's also space for wheelchairs, luggage or other equipment. Our stretchers can be loaded forward facing, and passengers can sit up and enjoy the view. It's like a business class seat, but on the road! Patients and carers can access wifi, charge devices, and keep snacks and medication cool in the fridge. We've also got a pressure mattress for a comfier ride, and lots of extra cushions, supports and blankets for a snooze. We stop every two hours for services and the all important bathroom breaks, and can take care of any hygiene and feeding needs. Some of our fleet are also equipped with 350KG SWL wheelchair hoists, for even the heaviest powered wheelchairs. We also have bariatric stretcher capability to 320KG.
Most of our trips use a skilled patient transport officer to drive the vehicle, load and unload the patient, and provide basic comfort and hygiene needs. Family members and carers are also welcome. Where clinical care is required, we can provide a registered nurse or Paramedic. While most of our work takes us to regional Queensland (we are regular visitors to Gladstone, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Hervey Bay and Maryborough) and northern NSW by road, we also move a lot of patients by air, providing a door to door service with road transport to and from the airport, and a companion for the flight. PTSQ is also an accredited provider for Queensland Health providing non-emergency patient transport services across SEQ. HHS are encouraged to contact us with their complex transport requirements. Don't need the stretcher? We also have sedans and an 8 seater vehicles to help with and assisted transports.

- • Forward facing stretcher configuration with detachable equipment bridge • Hand rails for support and movement within the cabin • EHOB inflatable pressure mattress and support cushions • High roof and adjustable seating • 12volt, USB charging and 240V AC power and WiFi Fridge to store drinks, food and medication • Wheelchair hoist and storage for travel mobility
- We usually travel distances of approx 400km in one trip, with stops every 2 hours. Longer distances are possible with planning, including overnight travel.

Chartered Aeromedical FlightsIf your passenger is unable to manage assisted travel on a commercial flight, PTSQ can access an aeromedical Jet and Turbo Prop aircraft for even complex needs. We also provide or organise road transport to and from the plane. We can take the stress out of the process by organising and coordinating aircraft charter, medical crewing, clearances, and hospital admissions, and issue a single invoice for the entire service. Costs vary according to urgency, aircraft availability and crew mix but will be tailored to be the most economical option available within the brief. This service is available 24/7 but usually requires some notice to organise, particularly for overseas locations. Our recent trips include Norfolk Isand, Solomon Islands and PNG.
Travel Companion PTSQ provides Travel companions on commercial flights domestically and internationally. Companions can assist with mobility, toileting, meals and medications. PTSQ can arrange door-to-door travel including flights, accommodation and ambulance transfers all incorporated into a single invoice. We arrange all travel, collect your passenger from their departure point and deliver safely to their destination. Recent trip include Townsville, Cairns, Canberra, Sydney, Port Macquarie and Bega! We love solving logistical challenges and reuniting patients with family and friends.
Social TransportsGetting out and about can be hard for people with mobility issues, leading to isolation and frustration. No one wants to miss out on weddings or other family celebrations. And sometimes we just need to feel the breeze, see the ocean or hear the birds. Our transporters are equipped to manage passengers with complex medical and mobility needs for social transportations such as a picnic, music show or gathering. PTSQ will provide a skilled driver for up to 5 passengers (2 stretchers) including the transport of wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
